Aim

Facilitate the import and export of plant and animal products through coordination and implementation of applicable policies, norms, standards, regulations and strategies.

Functions

1. Undertake promotions and awareness of cross cutting Biosecurity risk issues affecting the trade in agricultural products

2. Facilitate SPS capacity and coordination to improve compliance under the WTO-SPS agreement

3. Facilitate the issuing of permits in terms of various legislative mandates regulating food safety, plant health and animal health
